Project Five :

Indy in September

I attended a photo walk held by an amazing local creative and personal friend of mine, Lee Burleson. The event was very fun, the purpose was to just get out and take some photos. Its great to get out and just have fun with my camera. Below, you’ll see the TikTok that I made with the day’s shots. You’ll even see some that didnt make the cut (but I still really liked). Shot on Lumix G5, edited with SnapSeed and CapCut.

Good bye summer

The vibe I was going for was to capture the final days of our summer. Little did I know that we would still have summer weather in October… regardless, I tried my best to capture the warmth of that day. The sun was reminding us that summer was not yet over. I believe it was 90 degrees that day.

The Filter

The Filter I chose was one of my own making. As I previously mentioned, Iwas using SnapSeed as my photoediting suite for this project. I wanted to pick this up because I had heard this was a good app for editing on-the-go, and to be honest, I love it. There is a bit of a learning CURVE (photography pun) but I made the present in about 10-15 mins and I was able to easily apply it to all the other photos from the session.

No ND

ND filters are cool and all. But sometimes you want to give your photos the feeling of coming out on a super hot day. The hottest day I remember happened around 2015/‘16, when I was in high school. I was covered in sweat from sitting, thats how hot it was. That day I looked up to curse at the sun, but it was no use… The sun was too bright, almost omnipresent.

That’s why I still aim my camera with no ND. To show the oppressive nature of the sun.

Before

The cloud looks like something to me here.

Do you see it too?

After

If you guessed the thumb of an omnipotent creator, who is very clearly approving of my photos, then you are correct!

For this shot I used the lighten and darken brushes on SnapSeed to help the vision come to life.
